    • Alternatively, take a 20-min regional train from Ancona Airport to Fano, then a 10-min taxi to the villa

    2. Fly into Rimini (RMI)

    • Seasonal charter flights often serve weddings.

    • Pre-book our shuttle (45mins) or pick up a rental car directly at the terminal.

    3. Fly into Bologna (BLQ)

    • Take the high-speed “FrecciaRossa” train to Pesaro (1hr 10mins); we’ll collect you at the station (20 mins).

    • Or enjoy a scenic motorway drive if you prefer to rent a car.

    4. Fly into Rome (FCO)

    • Connect to AOI/RMI with a 50-min domestic flight or take the direct high-speed train (Rome → Pesaro ≈ 3hrs).

    Good to Know

    • Group logistics: For 20 + guests arriving together, we recommend a dedicated 49-seat coach from AOI or RMI—our planners coordinate flight tracking and luggage handling.

    • Late arrivals: The villa operates 24-hour gated access; night-time check-ins are no problem when arranged in advance.

    • Carbon offsets: Ask us about partnering airlines’ green fares - Villa Giulia contributes €5 per guest toward reforestation in the Marche region.

    Step-by-Step Options

    1. Book tickets

    • Use TRENITALIA.com or ITALO.it for e-tickets (mobile QR accepted).

    • Choose “Frecciarossa” or Italo for speed; Intercity/Regionale for budget.

    2. Arrive at Fano or Pesaro

    • We recommend high-speed to Pesaro, then a quick Regionale (12mins) or taxi to Fano if your chosen train doesn’t stop there.

    3. Transfer to the Villa

    • Pre-booked shuttle: Villa Giulia’s driver meets you at the platform (name board), handles luggage, and whisks you directly to the estate gates.

    • Taxi: Rank outside both stations; fare ≈ €20 (Fano) / €35 (Pesaro).

    • Car hire: Desks at Pesaro for guests planning road-trips along the coast.

    4. Late-night arrivals

    • Trains run until ~22:30; for later arrivals our planner can arrange a private transfer from Ancona or Bologna.

    Good to Know

    • Seat reservations are mandatory on Frecciarossa/Italo and included in your ticket.

    • Luggage: No weight limits - just store cases overhead or at carriage ends.

    • Group travel: For parties of 10+, ask us about exclusive coach transfers timed to your train.

    • Eco-friendly: Rail + shuttle produces 60 % less CO₂ than flying the same route - Villa Giulia plants an olive tree for every train-travelling couple.

    Note:

  • For Citizens of the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & other visa-exempt countries

    • Visa Not Required:

Citizens of these countries do not need a visa for short stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism purposes, which includes attending a wedding.

    • Passport Validity:

Passports must be valid for at least three months (in some cases 6 months) beyond the intended date of departure from the Schengen Area. The passport must also have been issued within the last 10 years.

    • ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System):

The new ETIAS travel authorisation system, which will be required for visa-exempt nationals, is not expected to be operational in 2025. The launch has been postponed to late 2026. Therefore, guests from these countries will not need to apply for ETIAS for travel in 2025.

    • EES (Entry/Exit System):

Starting in late 2025, the EU plans to introduce an automated Entry/Exit System at its borders. This is a procedural change where non-EU travellers will have their fingerprints and facial images recorded instead of getting a passport stamp. This does not require any action before travel but will be a new process at the airport upon arrival.

For Citizens of European Union (EU) / Schengen Area Countries:

    • Freedom of Movement:

Citizens of other EU and Schengen Area countries have the right to travel to Italy without a visa and can stay without time limits. They should travel with a valid passport or national ID card.

For Citizens of Countries Requiring a Visa:

    • Schengen Visa Required:

Guests from countries that do not have a visa-waiver agreement with the EU will need to apply for a Short-Stay Schengen Visa (Type C) before travelling.

General Recommendations for All Travellers to Villa Giulia:

It's always a good idea for all travellers to carry a copy of their key documents, such as:

    • A valid passport.

    • Proof of accommodation at or near Villa Giulia.

    • A return flight ticket.

    • A wedding invitation can also be helpful to show the purpose of the visit if asked by border officials.

Disclaimer: Visa and entry requirements can change. We strongly advise all guests to check the official travel advisories from their own government and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before booking travel arrangements.
